Deb’s family welcomes you to join them in remembering and celebrating her life.

Deborah Ann Sill Pevner was born September 28, 1950 and grew up in Ferndale, Maryland.

Deb’s early career was spent in film production, including several years as a commercial film producer, a stint expediting and scheduling film production for Maryland Public Television (MPT), and location scouting on feature and industrial films, including the movie, Diner.

Deb met her husband Geoff when they both worked together at MPT.

She put her work life on hold for a number of years after her children were born, and devoted much of her time volunteering in Anne Arundel County Public Schools as they grew up.

Deb had a voracious appetite for reading and could ALWAYS be found with a book in hand, or on her Kindle. As her children grew older, Deb re-entered the workforce at the Mountain Road Branch Library, which allowed her to spend time among her beloved books –AND get paid for it. No conversation with Deb was complete without a discussion of what you might be reading, listening to, or watching.

Deb’s Story

Deb and Geoff on their Wedding Day

In her retirement, Deb took up a passion for beading and jewelry, producing hundreds of individual pieces over the year that were often gifted to family and friends. She loved producing charm bracelets and other pieces customized for those she loved.

Despite a number of recent medical setbacks, Deb strove to overcome physical limitations to continue the things that she loved. She found ways to keep producing beaded jewelry – one handed. She transitioned from constantly reading hard copy to just as constantly reading e-books.

She loved watching small children at play. She was a warm and loving pet owner. She was a caring and compassionate friend. She loved music and art, laughed easily and infectiously. She loved Geoff dearly.

She was, above all, exceedingly proud of her two children, both of whom grew into honest and decent adults and solid citizens, and both of whom entered careers in public service.
